Sonneteer Byron MK V

Computer audio maybe be the future, but it can also be a frustrating experience, questions will confront you such as which operating system to use, what media player, what DAC, driver installation and other little niggles are going to face you to get it sounding good, it is no simple plug in and play.

However, life doesn't have to be so complicated, in fact it is still possible to just press a button, open a transport door, put a cd on a tray, close door, press play, and bingo, you have music, no messing around, and no windows OS!!

Now Sonneteer have been busy tinkering with their famed Byron and Bronte CD players. What have they been up to?

At first glance the new player look familiar but look closer and you will notice a small difference with the new Sonneteer Cd players.

The plastic buttons have now been replaced by stainless steel balls, and for those who know Sonneteer products well will notice these are the same balls that are used on the Morpheus remote control.

So what is different about the new Sonneteer? a completely new chassis, power supply, CD mechanism and several tweaks made to the chassis have also provided significant improvement to the overall sound quality.

Cd players dead? Thanks to PC audio, not yet.
